THE BAUER TYPE Printed by the New York office of the German-based Bauer Typefoundry, this specimen book serves as a tool for specing type, and as a catalog for the foundry. Like many spec books, there aren't page numbers (only numbers within separate sections), and there is no date of publication. As best I can tell, the book was printed sometime between 1937 and 1943. This is based on the fact that Legend (designed by F. H. Ernst Schneidler) was introduced in 1937, and a date of 1943 was written in pen on the inside cover. |
