Nonexistent Typefoundry

Have you ever felt like you bit off more than you can chew?  Well...that's the feeling I have every time I step into my garage and see my Ludlow.  I may live to regret it, but I've decided that it has to go.

I printed this card in the style of a type specimen sheet.  It illustrates a typeface -- but it also tells a story.

This spec sheet from the Nonexistent Typefoundry is printed on card stock from Staples.

The type used is Corvinus, a face designed by Imre Reiner for the Bauer Type Foundry in 1934-1935.  The descriptions and address are set in Joanna, a face designed by Eric Gill, and cast by Harold Berliner.

The borders came from one of the bottom drawers of an old type cabinet I bought from a print shop on Long Island.  They are called Century Borders, and are pictured on page 685 of the 1923 ATF Specimen Book.  "The Nonexistent Typefoundry" is set in a mystery face that I only have in caps.  The paper helicopter cut is a copper die from Owosso Graphic Arts.

If you know anyone who can't live without a Ludlow -- please drop me a line.
