Holiday Card 2000 |

This is a simple card -- that ended up being much more time-consuming than I originally assumed. It is hard to see from the scan, but the card has a 1/2 sheet fold that comes down from the top. The red hats are printed on the top sheet, and it folds down to place the hats on the kids' heads. When you fold it up the greeting copy is revealed, and you can see the complete silhouette. Between the three colors, two sides, and a crease made on the press, this job had to run through the press five times. Specs: The card is printed on 80 lb. cover Crest Solar White stock from Paper Access. All of the type is from the Dale Guild Type Foundry. The initial cap is a Jensen Initial, the text is in 16 pt. Franciscan, and the small caps are set in 16 pt. Friar Caps The silhouettes were made by Sally Newcomb, an artist who visits Boscobel every year, and the hats are my own drawings. They were made into copper dies by Owosso Graphic Arts. |
