A hearty perennial!
The warmth and feeling the holiday season inspires is to cordial and so sincerely well meant, so kindly conferred by each, and so very graciously acceptable to all, that every one must wish it could be a year-long experience.  It is a spirit that by custom has become associated with a period fixed by the calendar, yet the intent and resolve of many of us must be that cordial good-will of this season extend throughout the full twelve months.
Thus the Bauer Almanac for 1939 is our attempt to give witness to that belief.  We hope that you will find that it does express that feeling and that you may want to keep it in remembrance of that mood.  Then, to give it utility as a more practical reminder, we have added those blank pages for your memoranda, and rather particular notes.  In fine, the whole idea has just one aim: That our wish for your very prosperous and very happy new year may be realized, and that this little book may help you then record its higher moments.  May they be very many!
