This is one of ATF's big books -- a full 1148-pages of typefaces, borders, decorative items, presses, and printing equipment.  According to a notation inside the book:

"Sixty thousand copies of this book were printed entirely from type and brass rules in the SPECIMEN PRINTING DEPARTMENT of the AMERICAN TYPE FOUNDERS COMPANY  Jersey City, N.J., U.S.A.

DECORATIVE MATERIAL

OK...this may seem like an unusual page to feature from all of the 1148 pages of the 1923 ATF book -- but I have this border, and it wasn't until I got this book that I truly understood how to put together the different pieces.  (The border was spread out in four separate sections of an old type cabinet -- and it looked like two or three different borders.)

My assumption is that the green is to be printed first -- with the red printing on top to form the "brown" of the stems and leaf-trim.  See my borders on the BORDER PAGE.
